Abstract:
This is a transcript and recording of an oral history interview that took place as part of the class projects for Middlesex College's History 221H class in the Fall of 2023.
Biographical:
My name is Miguel Cruz, currently serving as a Director of Human Resources for an EdTech start-up. My journey began when I immigrated from Mexico to the US at the age of 6, having to learn a new language, foods, and culture. Life took me to Rhode Island for work during my early 20s, a move that taught me to be independent and self-reliant. One of my proudest achievements has been graduating from Rutgers University and buying a house, underscoring the idea that hard work pays off. During my free time, you'll find me on the volleyball court, immersed in video games, or catching up on my favorite TV shows. Looking ahead, my goal is to climb the corporate ladder and become a Chief Human Resource Officer, travel the world, and become a professor before retirement.
